Special consideration for Stainless Steel 410 Square Bars must be given to avoid brittle weld fractures during fabrication by minimizing discontinuities, maintaining low weld heat input and occasionally warming the part somewhat before forming. A major difference can be attributed to the addition of Stainless Steel 410 Flat Bars to control hardening that results in need for higher heat input to achieve penetration during arc welding. When weld filler is required, Stainless Steel 410 Threaded Bars is more often specified immersed in a warm solution of 10 % – 20 % nitric acid followed by water rinse to remove any residual iron. Stainless Steel 410 Hollow Bars contains minimum of 12 % chromium, sufficient enough to provide corrosion resistant properties. Stainless Steel 410 Hexagonal Bars contains higher carbon content which is designed to optimize strength and hardness characteristics. Stainless Steel 410 Triangular Bars has good ductility in the annealed condition but is capable of being hardened having the highest hardness of the 12 % chromium grades. Due to its hardening properties, SS 410 Bars is not often welded, although it is possible. Its best corrosion resistance is accqired when Stainless Steel 410 Rods is hardened and surface ground or polished.
